About this role
Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need of highly skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) with a minimum of
three (3) years of experience as a Correctional Registered Nurse in an inpatient setting, preferably with experience working with adult inmate patients who are incarcerated.
Pay Rate: $50/hr
Location: Los Angeles, CA *working between 3 facilities
Shift: 8- Hours | Hours per week Minimum of 2 shifts per week or as needed | Days, Weekends and Holidays
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
- AHA BLS Certification
- MAB or CPI Certification
RNs will provide comprehensive nursing care to justice-involved individuals with substance use disorders. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments
- Performing intake screenings
- Withdrawal evaluations
- Ongoing patient monitoring
- Administering and documenting FDA-approved Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) medications
- Monitoring patients for therapeutic response, adverse reactions, medication compliance, and signs of intoxication or withdrawal
- Providing individualized patient education regarding:
- Substance use disorders
- Medication adherence
- Overdose prevention
- Harm reduction strategies
- Relapse prevention
- Developing continuity of care plans
Candidates should be comfortable working in a
locked forensic environment with frequent interaction with law enforcement.
