Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support network operations on multiple levels, from monitoring and troubleshooting to tooling and designing, ensuring the network is well maintained and healthy. You will also seek opportunities to make network operations more efficient and reliable by building automations to reduce manual work.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Run day-to-day operations relating to the mobile network including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response
  • Write scripts to automate and improve manual, repetitive operations work including alerting, service checks, routine network tasks, etc.
  • Architect and build internal dashboards to monitor the network, performance, and KPI tracking
  • Use custom automations and APIs to integrate network elements, monitoring systems, and alerting platforms
  • Support international roaming operations, including IREG/TADIG testing, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with network engineering, vendors, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve reliability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mobile Computing, or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience working in telecommunications or network operations
  • Hands-on experience supporting mobile network technologies
  • Strong understanding of mobile network technology across 2G-5G generations, including signaling, voice, SMS, data services, and international roaming
  • Experience building tools and/or automations using Python, Go, or similar language
  • Familiarity with IMS, VAS platforms, core network elements, ITU-T/3GPP specifications, GSMA recommendations, SS7/MAP and Diameter signaling, as well as working with APIs and similar data sets
  • Experience automation operational workflows, including reporting, monitoring, alerting, and remediation
  • Must have a TS/SCI clearance.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
