Flyspace Productions is a Pittsburgh-based event management, event production, and experiential services company. From community festivals and large-scale public events to corporate activations, sporting events, and private celebrations, our team creates memorable experiences throughout the region.
We're seeking a Seasonal Event Operations Manager to support our growing portfolio of festivals, public events, and experiential activations. This role will lead event logistics, coordinate staffing, oversee mobile hospitality operations-including Pittsburgh Mobile Bars-and ensure events are executed safely, efficiently, and professionally.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys event operations, hospitality management, logistics, and team leadership. The position begins as a seasonal part-time role with the potential to evolve into a full-time management position.
What You'll Do
Festival & Event Operations
  • Coordinate operational planning for festivals, public events, community celebrations, and special activations
  • Manage event logistics including equipment, transportation, setup, breakdown, staffing, and scheduling
  • Conduct site visits and assist with event layout planning and operational assessments
  • Serve as on-site event lead for assigned events and activations
  • Coordinate with venues, municipalities, vendors, sponsors, and event partners
  • Assist with permitting, licensing, and compliance requirements
Mobile Hospitality & Concessions
  • Oversee Pittsburgh Mobile Bars operations for assigned events
  • Coordinate inventory, product ordering, equipment preparation, and transportation
  • Ensure mobile bars, concessions, and beverage service operations are event-ready
  • Manage beverage service staff and ensure compliance with all alcohol service requirements
  • Support expansion into future mobile hospitality, concessions, and festival service programs
Staff Leadership
  • Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise seasonal event staff
  • Lead bartenders, servers, brand ambassadors, and event support personnel
  • Ensure staff are trained on company vehicles, equipment, customer service standards, and safety procedures
  • Build a positive, energetic team culture focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences
Business Development & Growth
  • Help identify opportunities for new events, partnerships, and revenue streams
  • Build relationships with event organizers, venues, sponsors, and community partners
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory management, and event profitability tracking
  • Analyze event performance and provide recommendations for operational improvements
  • Support new Flyspace and Pittsburgh Mobile Bars initiatives as they are developed

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate enjoys being both a planner and a problem-solver. They can manage details behind the scenes while also stepping into leadership roles on-site when events are happening.
Preferred Experience
  • Event operations, festival management, hospitality, catering, venue operations, or experiential marketing
  • Managing teams and coordinating event logistics
  • Customer-facing hospitality or service experience
  • Inventory management and operational planning
  • Experience with beverage service, concessions, or mobile hospitality operations is a plus
Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in dynamic event environments
  • Ability to tow a small trailer or willingness to learn
  • Ability to operate a pickup truck, cargo van, or similar vehicle
  • Manual transmission experience preferred
  • Experience with draft systems, beverage operations, or concessions is a plus

Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to obtain:
    • RAMP Certification
    • ServSafe Certification
    • Certified Food Protection Manager Certification
    • DOT Medical Certification
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during event season
