Miranda information

What are Miranda rights?

Miranda rights are a set of legal protections that police officers are required to inform individuals of before interrogating them while in custody. These rights include the right to remain silent, the right to an attorney, and the warning that anything said can be used against the individual in court. The purpose of Miranda rights is to protect a person's Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination. These rights originated from the 1966 U.S. Supreme Court case Miranda v. Arizona. Failing to inform a suspect of these rights can result in statements being inadmissible in court.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Miranda Rights Advisor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Miranda Rights Advisor, you need a thorough understanding of criminal law, law enforcement procedures, and the constitutional rights of detainees, typically supported by a legal or criminal justice background. Familiarity with police reporting systems, case management software, and relevant legal documentation tools is essential. Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure that individuals' rights are properly protected during the legal process and help maintain the integrity of law enforcement procedures.

What is the difference between Miranda vs Paralegal?

AspectMirandaParalegal
Required CredentialsHigh school diploma or equivalent; some roles may require certificationAssociate's degree or paralegal certificate often preferred
Work EnvironmentLegal settings, courts, law firmsLaw firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies
Industry UsageLegal proceedings, law enforcementLegal research, document preparation, case management

Miranda rights are a legal requirement in law enforcement, ensuring suspects are informed of their rights. Paralegals assist lawyers by preparing legal documents and conducting research. While both are involved in the legal field, Miranda relates to rights advisement during arrests, whereas paralegals support legal casework. Understanding these differences helps clarify their distinct roles within the legal system.

Job description

Senior Family Law Litigation Attorney (Partnership Track)

Lead Complex Cases. Build Your Reputation. Advance Toward Partnership.

Antonyan Miranda, LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Litigation Attorney to join one of California's premier family law litigation teams. This opportunity is designed for attorneys who are ready to take ownership of sophisticated family law matters, lead litigation strategy, mentor junior attorneys, and build a path toward partnership.

If you're looking for more than a caseload, and want a seat at the table where complex family law cases are won, we want to hear from you. Our attorneys handle some of the most noteworthy family law matters in Southern California, including high-net-worth divorce cases, business-owner and executive divorces, complex property disputes, contested custody litigation, domestic violence matters, and high-conflict post-judgment proceedings requiring strategic thinking and trial readiness.

You'll work alongside Certified Family Law Specialists, experienced trial attorneys, in-house forensic accountants, dedicated discovery attorneys, appellate attorneys, and senior litigators while leading significant matters from inception through resolution.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a high-level family law caseload from inception through resolution
  • Develop and execute litigation strategy for complex family law matters
  • Conduct depositions, evidentiary hearings, settlement conferences, and trials
  • Serve as first chair on significant hearings and contested proceedings
  • Draft and argue complex motions
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys while helping shape case strategy and professional development across the department
  • Work directly with partners on significant family law matters
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and advocacy

What You'll Earn

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200,000–$350,000 plus incentive bonuses, with final compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of family law litigation experience
  • CFLS certification is a plus
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing
  • Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills
  • Significant experience handling contested family law matters
  • Exceptional legal writing and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex litigation
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills
  • Leadership mindset with an interest in mentorship and team development
  • Commitment to excellence, professionalism, and client service

Why Senior Attorneys Join Antonyan Miranda

  • High-net-worth and high-conflict family law matters
  • Meaningful leadership opportunities
  • Direct access to Certified Family Law Specialists and experienced trial attorneys
  • In-house forensic accounting and litigation support resources
  • Competitive compensation and substantial bonus opportunities
  • Strong referral network and marketing support
  • Collaborative culture without unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Clear path toward long-term leadership and partnership opportunities

Why Antonyan Miranda?

Our family law team is supported by Certified Family Law Specialists, in-house forensic accountants, dedicated discovery attorneys, appellate attorneys, experienced trial lawyers, and advanced litigation technology. We are a multidisciplinary litigation firm with leading family law, employment rights, and personal injury practices, creating unique opportunities for collaboration and professional growth.

You'll join a team known for:

  • Innovative marketing and business development support
  • Cutting-edge technology and forward-thinking systems
  • Collaborative support and leadership opportunities
  • Flexible work-from-home policy
  • Comprehensive health benefits
  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid continuing legal education support
