Job Description
Visa is seeking a Senior Manager, Business & Payments Trend Insights to join the North America Insights & Analytics team supporting North America Marketing Services.
As an individual contributor reporting to the Director of NA Insights & Analytics, this role will focus on developing business, consumer, and payment trend insights that support account planning, client pitches, marketing proposals, and new marketing initiatives. The Senior Manager will synthesize multiple data sources - including MRI-Simmons, Mintel, proprietary Visa research studies, VisaNet transaction data, industry reports, and other internal and external sources - to build compelling, client-ready insights and stories.
This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on payment trends, consumer spending behavior, category dynamics, and emerging commerce shifts that impact marketing activities. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability, strategic thinking, storytelling, and executive-level presentation skills. This person should be comfortable working with data, identifying patterns, developing implications, and presenting insights to both internal stakeholders and external Visa clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Business, Consumer & Payments Trend Insights:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payment trends, consumer spending behavior, commerce dynamics, and evolving marketplace shifts.
  • Monitor and analyze business, consumer, category, and payments trends relevant to Visa clients, including financial institutions, merchants, fintechs, and other ecosystem partners.
  • Identify emerging trends and translate them into implications for client marketing strategy, customer engagement, and growth opportunities.
  • Build insight narratives that help clients understand what is changing in the market, why it matters, and how they can respond through marketing initiatives.
  • Develop reusable trend frameworks, category perspectives, and client-ready insights that can scale across Marketing Services engagements.

Multi-Source Data Synthesis & Pitch Support:
  • Leverage multiple data sources, including MRI-Simmons, Mintel, proprietary Visa research, VisaNet transaction data, consumer surveys, industry reports, and other third-party or internal sources.
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative information across sources to identify meaningful patterns, tensions, opportunities, and strategic implications.
  • Partner with North America Marketing Services teams to support account planning, client pitches, proposals, strategic briefs, thought leadership, and new marketing initiatives.
  • Develop client-ready stories that frame market opportunities, audience needs, category shifts, behavioral trends, and potential marketing strategies.
  • Partner with internal analytics and data teams to access, interpret, and apply Visa proprietary data appropriately and responsibly.

Insight Storytelling & Stakeholder Partnership:
  • Translate complex data into clear, persuasive narratives for business, marketing, and client audiences.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations that connect data, trends, insights, implications, and recommended actions.
  • Present insights regularly to clients, senior stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with Marketing Services leadership, account teams, strategy, creative, analytics, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Help raise the profile of North America Insights & Analytics as a source of strategic intelligence, trend expertise, and business-building ideas.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in business insights, consumer insights, market research, data analytics, strategic planning, consulting, marketing strategy, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience synthesizing multiple data sources into clear, actionable business or marketing insights.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with quantitative data, syndicated research, consumer research, transaction data, and business performance data.
  • Experience developing client-ready presentations, strategic narratives, thought leadership, pitch materials, or executive communications.
  • Proven ability to translate data and trends into marketing implications, business opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Experience working at a market research agency, consultancy, or similar client-service environment.
  • Experience using syndicated research or data platforms such as MRI-Simmons, Mintel, eMarketer/Insider Intelligence, Forrester, Gartner, Euromonitor, or similar sources.
  • Experience working with transaction data, spend data, customer behavior data, loyalty data, or other large-scale behavioral datasets.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, retail, commerce, technology, consumer packaged goods, media, consulting, or marketing services.
  • Familiarity with consumer segmentation, category analysis, trend forecasting, audience profiling, and market opportunity assessment.
  • Experience supporting client pitches, business development, sales enablement, consulting engagements, or marketing strategy proposals.
  • Experience creating thought leadership, trend reports, category perspectives, or executive-level insight presentations.
  • Strong data visualization and PowerPoint storytelling skills.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

U.S. Applicants Only
The estimated salary range for this position is $180,600.00 to $ 289,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
