ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance activities to ensure equipment, vehicles, and facilities operate safely and efficiently. This role oversees preventative maintenance programs, repair operations, and team performance while supporting overall operational goals. Success requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to planning and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs, including scheduling and documentation for equipment and vehicles.
  • Assign work, provide direction, and ensure team members follow proper procedures and company guidelines.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to maximize efficiency of labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies necessary to support maintenance operations.
  • Monitor and track maintenance activities, ensuring accurate reporting and recordkeeping.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable and hands-on maintenance leader with experience managing teams and equipment in an industrial or fleet environment. They are organized, safety-focused, and capable of balancing daily operations with long-term maintenance planning. This individual is proactive, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of performance and efficiency.
They are also capable of the following:
  • Asset Management: Direct the upkeep of batch plants, overhead cranes, concrete mixers, casting beds, formwork, forklifts, and automated rebar fabrication equipment.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Optimize the Fiix system to schedule required routine maintenance, wear inspections, and component replacements on all equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and schedule a team of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic technicians across multiple shifts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and local environmental and structural safety standards.
  • Capital Improvement: Collaborate with plant managers and operations managers to design, install, and commission new production lines or facility expansions.
  • Inventory Control: Manage a critical spare parts inventory to minimize downtime during emergency equipment failures.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
  • Associate degree or equivalent training, or at least 5 years of maintenance management experience.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role within a heavy industrial environment (precast, concrete, aggregate, or mining).
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and general maintenance practices.
  • Deep understanding of heavy hydraulics, high-torque gearboxes, pneumatics, and high-wear material handling systems (conveyors, screws, hoppers).
  • Competence in industrial electrical systems (480V, 3-phase), PLC troubleshooting, and automated sensor calibration.
  • Proven track record of managing technical personnel, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and driving a safety-first culture.
  • Experience working with facility systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Ability to document, track, and report maintenance activities effectively.
  • Proficiency with computers and maintenance-related systems.
  • Experience planning and managing maintenance operations.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
