Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Millwright role in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely fabricate, assemble, weld, fit, and install heavy industrial equipment according to specifications, blueprints, and production schedules.
  • Read, interpret, and execute work accurately from blueprints, weld symbols, cut lists, and work instructions.
  • Perform advanced welding and fabrication duties including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding in all required positions.
  • Inspect materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and specifications.
  • Set up, operate, monitor, and adjust production machines and equipment for safe and efficient operation.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment to move and assemble large components.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, material transactions, inspections, and shipment records.
  • Support production planning efforts by assisting with schedules, material readiness, and delivery commitments.
  • Train and mentor team members on job duties, safety practices, documentation requirements, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, SOP development, process optimization, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal leadership while supporting production goals and workforce planning.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Extensive experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, and machining processes.
  • Proven ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and layout techniques.
  • Strong math skills including geometry, decimals, and metric conversions.
  • Ability to safely operate cranes, forklifts, and heavy equipment using proper PPE and lifting techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and capable of working independently.
  • Basic computer proficiency required; prior leadership experience preferred.
