About the Job
Join MLC's Research & Development team and play a hands-on role in advancing new technologies, testing innovative process solutions, and supporting customers through equipment deployments and technical service projects.
  • Prepare, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain mobile equipment systems used for customer demonstrations, trials, and technical service projects.
  • Travel to customer sites to install, commission, and support lime storage and handling equipment while training operators on safe and effective use.
  • Support pilot plant and full-scale testing activities through equipment setup, execution, sampling, data collection, and reporting.
  • Build, modify, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and process equipment used in R&D and technical service applications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, plant personnel, and operations teams to safely execute development projects and process improvements.
  • Utilize plant and process knowledge to streamline testing activities and improve sample collection and evaluation efforts.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, customers, and internal stakeholders to support project objectives and equipment solutions.
  • Perform laboratory testing, operate forklifts and other industrial equipment, and assist with ongoing technical service and innovation initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, industrial facility, or pilot plant environment.
  • Experience performing mechanical maintenance, fabrication, equipment assembly, or industrial troubleshooting.
  • Ability to safely use shop tools and equipment for cutting, grinding, welding, and general mechanical work.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with lime manufacturing processes, including calcination, hydration, bulk material handling, or related mineral processing operations.
  • Millwright, maintenance, fabrication, or mechanical trade experience.
  • Experience commissioning, operating, or troubleshooting industrial equipment in customer-facing environments.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating mobile industrial equipment.
  • Experience supporting pilot plant, process development, or R&D testing activities.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and sample evaluation techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach to technical challenges.
