Job Title: Maintenance Technician
APEL Extrusions Location: Phoenix, AZ
U.S. Position: Does not qualify for work visa/sponsorship.
Night Shift is : Monday- Thursday 6pm-6am
The Company
APEL Extrusions, Inc. is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions, with six extrusion presses and a full array of finishing capabilities occupying over 600,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 300 people. With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and Phoenix Arizona, APEL serves the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots and repairs machinery quickly and effectively to maximize production time.

Competencies/Skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic valves, pumps, cylinders and schematics.
  • Knowledge of general industrial equipment such as chains, bushings, bearings, gearboxes and drive belts.
  • Experience with fabrication and reading blueprints.
  • Ability to work safely at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Familiarity with CMMS.
  • Fabrication and welding.
  • Commitment to safety.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Work on various projects involving fabrication, rebuilding parts, and inspecting machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Help other maintenance and operational personnel as needed.
  • Operate a forklift and man lift.
  • Plumb air, oil, grease and water lines.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work independently and as a team.
  • Strictly follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Fabrication experience.
  • Ability to safely work in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and around chemicals.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Preferred โ€“ Millwright Certification, Electrical experience.
  • Preferred โ€“ CMMS familiarity.
