What is millwork design?

Millwork design refers to the planning and creation of custom woodwork products such as cabinetry, moldings, doors, windows, and trim that are typically fabricated in a mill. Summary:

Genesis Innovations is a leader in high-end residential millwork, producing architectural cabinetry, paneling, trim, and doors for some of the most exceptional homes in the Rocky Mountain region. We partner with top architects and builders to bring complex architectural visions to life through heirloom-quality installations. We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Manager to lead complex millwork projects with precision, accountability, and leadership.

Position Overview:

Acting as the CEO of each project, this individual is responsible for driving scheduling, budgeting, team coordination, and client communication to ensure successful outcomes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role requires a hands-on, business-owner mindset with a strong commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Apply business principles from Traction (EOS), The Goal (Theory of Constraints), and INNERGY ERP training to drive decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Lead pre-mortem and post-mortem project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the advancement of project management systems by identifying and implementing major process improvements in scheduling, coordination, or execution.
  • Coordinate design details with the architect and confirm project wide adherence through the Design Engineering process.

Project Management:

  • Lead projects from submittals through final installation, acting as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Manage detailed submittal and installation schedules, ensuring project milestones are met and coordinated across teams.
  • Participate in weekly millwork design reviews with customers, using Bluebeam to redline drawings, follow up on revisions, and coordinate updates with the Design Engineering team.
  • Strengthen collaboration across Sales, Design Engineering, Estimating, Install, and Production teams to streamline communication and improve project workflow.
  • Maintain accuracy and data integrity in weekly standups, providing actionable updates and ensuring all deliverables are clearly communicated and on track.

Budget Management:

  • Own and manage project budgets proactively, driving decisions that protect profitability across labor, materials, and schedule management.
  • Monitor and respond to cost variances in real-time, identifying and resolving issues before they impact gross profit targets.
  • Utilize the WMD bid template to understand scope, pricing, and changes; generate and manage change orders with clarity and confidence.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects totaling $7Mโ€“$10M annually, ensuring delivery within budget and financial expectations.

Benefits:

- Health, Dental, Vision, Long-term, and Short-term Disability Insurance available after no more than three months of employment.
