Job description

The Senior Cabinetry Designer for BOWA Cabinetry Studio is a key design leader responsible for the design of cabinetry for innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling spaces within high-end residential remodeling projects. This role involves collaborating closely with clients, the design team, and production personnel. In this role you will develop detailed renderings, select materials and finishes, obtain quotes and place and track orders for cabinetry packages. You will also mentor junior designers and establish bring best practices to the BOWA Design Studio. ย This individual brings deep expertise in custom cabinetry and residential interiors, a high level of professionalism, and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborator who can guide clients through the design journey while upholding BOWA's reputation for exceptional quality and service.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor Kitchen, Bath, and Cabinetry Designers
  • Provide design direction, technical oversight, and quality control for all kitchen, bath, and cabinetry projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process for high-end kitchen, bath, and cabinetry projects, from initial client consultation through final specifications and handoff to production.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess needs, establish vision, and develop tailored design solutions.
  • Design custom cabinetry solutions, optimizing layout, materials, finishes, and storage functionality to maximize space efficiency.
  • Create, manage and track orders and deliverables with regular coordination and communication with the design and production teams
  • Create and oversee detailed 2D/3D design renderings using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, 2020 Design, SketchUp).
  • Provide expert recommendations on layout, materials, finishes, appliances, and fixtures.
  • Coordinate closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure material quality and timely delivery.
  • Stay current with trends, codes, and best practices in residential kitchen, bath, and cabinetry design.
  • Present design concepts and proposals with confidence and professionalism to clients and internal teams, including material samples and mood boards.
  • Support project managers during construction to ensure design intent is maintained and any field modifications are aligned with the original vision.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and project management.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience working in high-end residential design, with a focus on kitchens, baths, and custom cabinetry
  • Proven experience managing design projects and mentoring designers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients, team members, and trade partners
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities; experienced and creative problem solver
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; demonstrated track record for flexibility and a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work with others and follow direction but also self-motivated and organized
  • Attention to detail required as well as an open mind to process improvement
  • A willingness to learn and to work
  • Computer proficiencies
    1. 20/20, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rendering Software
