WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Mill operators use machinery to ensure our product is clean and up to customer standards before we ship it out. Mill operators maintain and service the machinery to ensure it's always in tip-top shape. This position requires individuals to be safety-minded, have strong attention to detail, and be mechanically inclined.
  • Read and understand daily production schedule and material requirements.
  • Set-up and operation of mill equipment with correct materials and product based on order specifications.
  • Discharging mill contents.
  • Maintaining mill production records.
  • Sample and grade product according to customer specifications.
  • Completing and maintaining required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output and machine downtime.
  • Assist in troubleshooting minor milling problems and make appropriate adjustments on equipment, and perform minor maintenance duties
  • Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE NEED
MUST-HAVES:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills including touch screens

NICE-TO-HAVES:
  • 1+ years of milling experience

WORK CONDITIONS
  • Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 100 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently exposed to a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to dust and loud noise.
  • Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to machinery and mechanical, moving parts.
  • Personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, hair net and food safety related items, is required.
