Overview:
Role: Data Migration Engineer (MongoDB to Azure Cosmos DB)
Location: Jersey City, NJ / Dallas, TX / Tampa, FL
We are seeking a skilled Data Migration Engineer to lead the conversion of existing MongoDB-based data stores to Azure Cosmos DB as part of our modernization and cloud-native transformation initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, performance, and compliance across our distributed financial services infrastructure, including systems supporting corporate actions and collateral management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data migration strategies from MongoDB to Cosmos DB (API for MongoDB).
- Analyze existing schemas, indexes, and data access patterns to optimize for Cosmos DBs partitioning and throughput model.
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to integrate Cosmos DB into microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Ensure data consistency, availability, and security throughout the migration process.
- Support performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.
- Document migration procedures and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Required Skills7 years of experience with MongoDB and NoSQL data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Cosmos DB, especially the MongoDB API.
