Job Title: Jenkins Migration Engineer

Location: McLean, VA (5 days onsite)

FULLTIME with Hexaware

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Jenkins Migration Engineer to drive end-to-end migration initiatives from CloudBees Jenkins to Open-Source Jenkins. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining migration strategy, target architecture, and governance, while ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient CI/CD transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end migration strategy, architecture, and governance for transitioning from CloudBees Jenkins to Open-Source Jenkins.
  • Conduct current state assessments of existing DevOps and Jenkins-based environments.
  • Define and design target-state CI/CD architecture ensuring high availability (HA), scalability, and disaster recovery (DR).
  • Drive DevOps tool migrations, including source code repositories and pipeline migrations.
  • Modernize legacy pipelines by implementing Pipeline as Code and enterprise CI/CD best practices.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-optimized CI/CD solutions.
  • Automate migration activities using scripting and DevOps tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with containerized agents and Kubernetes to enhance CI/CD infrastructure.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Provide recommendations for CI/CD modernization and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for migration processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and alignment.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Jenkins (Core and Plugins) and CloudBees Jenkins
  • Expertise in CI/CD architecture, pipeline design, and enterprise DevOps practices
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized build agents
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as: Groovy / Python / YAML / JSON
  • Strong experience in Pipeline as Code and pipeline configuration management
  • Experience in automating tasks and workflows to streamline migrations
  • Good understanding of DevOps toolchain integrations
