Job Summary:
The Senior Data Warehouse Specialist / ETL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data pipelines, data warehouses, and data integration solutions to support analytics, reporting, and decision-making across large-scale systems. This position supports an upcoming project with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This role ensures high-quality, secure, and performant data processing aligned with federal standards, data governance policies, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data integration from multiple source systems
  • Build and enhance data warehouses, data marts, and analytics platforms
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading to ensure data quality and accuracy
  • Optimize SQL queries, ETL jobs, and data processing performance
  • Support data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and metadata management
  • Develop and maintain data integration workflows and automation processes
  • Conduct data profiling, validation, and testing (unit, integration, performance, data quality)
  • Collaborate with data architects, BI developers, business analysts, and QA teams
  • Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes/enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and federal regulations (FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP)
  • Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer activities
  • Provide technical leadership and enforce best practices

Skills Required:
  • Strong expertise in ETL/ELT tools (Databricks, DataStage, SSIS, AWS Glue, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and database development
  • Experience with data warehouse architecture and data modeling
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Databricks, Redshift, S3)
  • Knowledge of database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with job scheduling tools (Control-M or equivalent)
  • Experience in data quality, governance, and metadata management
  • Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of federal security and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
