Job description

Position Summary
Midwest Hose is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for producing high-quality welds on stainless steel and other alloys used in industrial hose assemblies, fittings, and custom fabrication projects. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, takes pride in precision workmanship, and can consistently meet quality and production standards.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform precision TIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metals.
  • Weld thin-wall tubing, hose assemblies, fittings, and custom fabricated components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain TIG welding equipment.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet company and customer quality standards.
  • Use measuring tools, gauges, and fixtures to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting components before welding.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other fabrication or production duties as needed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of TIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • Experience welding stainless steel and thin-wall tubing is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Bend, kneel, stoop, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS welding certification is a plus.
  • Experience with hose assembly manufacturing or industrial fabrication.
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience is beneficial but not required.
