Alcon is looking to hire a Senior Manager, Cloud & Middleware Architecture team member. This role is part of Alcon's Information Technology function, a team that delivers cutting-edge technology solutions to Alcon associates and customers to help our people and the world see brilliantly.

This role is on-site in our Lake Forest, CA location and a typical day would include:

  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based and middleware architectures to enable seamless application integration and ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Oversee teams responsible for developing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud and middleware solutions, providing mentorship and leadership to foster a culture of innovation and high-quality solution development.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align cloud and middleware strategies with business goals and digital transformation objectives, ensuring architecture solutions enhance system interoperability.
  • Directly impact the organization's ability to leverage cloud and middleware solutions for business agility and operational efficiency.
  • Exercise high-level decision-making authority regarding the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud and middleware systems, aligning technical architecture decisions with organizational goals and digital transformation initiatives.
  • The Solution Architect oversees the definition of the enterprise platform and protocols that should be adopted and supported by the Unity AVS (Alcon Vision Suite) endpoint portfolio of products.
  • He/She will lead Alcon enterprise customer and ophthalmology market integration requirements, define the architectures to be adopted or drive the development of new platform solutions to meet the integration requirements.
  • Backed up by strong technical knowledge, will create training and education strategy and act as a high-level escalation resource for all Alcon products interconnectivity needs, for both internal and customer facing teams.

What You'll Bring to Alcon:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
