Job description

We are looking for a Middleware Administrator to provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers.

This position will be an administrator for Day-to-day Middleware operations and support work for on-premise data center. For example: creating and modifying instances for Apache web server, WebLogic, Tomcat / JBoss instances, the renewal of SSL certificates for applications. And support for application migration to AWS.


Responsibilities

  • Provide middleware administration duties for critical financial platforms, end-to-end, including WebSphere, jBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and WXS (extreme scale cache);Delivering middleware enterprise projects and regulatory legislative initiatives
    Manage, maintain and support group of Custom, COTS/SaaS applications
  • Lead high priority incident resolution, enhancements and development activities
  • Customer reporting and backlog prioritization
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to resolve support issues related to COTS & SaaS applications.
  • Work with Service Desk and End Users to provide end-to-end resolution for Application Support issues.
  • Coordination/Support for Release Management & Deployments.
  • Support the ongoing effort to baseline current Asset database and CMDB
  • Prepare Application Know-how documentation wherever applicable.
  • Adhere to customer’s IT Support processes and Security policies

To be successful in this role you need to;

  • Strong skills on installation, configuration, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning and Production Support for Middleware platforms such as Tomcat, Jboss, WebLogic, and Apache web server in large cluster environments on Linux Unix platforms.
  • Strong skills in Production issue Root Cause Analysis, analyze Production incident/issues and identify the root cause, and find the permanent solutions; Analyze the application thread hung issue and out of memory issue and find the root cause; resolve the incident/issues escalated by L1 team.
  • Strong experience in web server and application server SSL digital Certificates managements for Apache and Weblogic, Tomcat and Jboss application servers.
  • Strong experience in using change management ticketing systems such as ServiceNow systems (or similar application) to manage Incidents, change and service request tickets.
  • Strong experience in Unix shell scripting and Perl programming to automate Middleware Tomcat/JBOSS/Apache platform managements, systems administration and monitoring tasks.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Java programming, experience with Java Code Management is desired and a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in automation middleware management process using Puppet, or Terraform, Jenkins, AWS CloudFormation.
  • Strong experience in RDBM database and PL/SQL such as Oracle, Sybase and MS SQL Server, using PL/SQL and JDBC data sources. Tuning and troubleshooting SQL and JDBC connection pool, JDBC leak, database deadlock and database blocking session performance issues.
