About This Role

Middle Tyger Community Center is now hiring for the new Middle Tyger Education Center! We are seeking passionate and dedicated Teachers and Teacher Assistants to join our team. Openings are available in Infant, One-Year-Old, Two-Year-Old, 3K, 4K, and Early Head Start classrooms.

We are a high-quality early childhood program committed to maintaining strong standards and following best practices to ensure children receive a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. What You'll Do
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for their needs and/or problems
  • Implementation of developmentally appropriate activities for all children in classroom
  • Monitoring and assessing preschool children in October, January, and April using Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment. Provide Family-Teacher Conferences.
  • Set up the physical environment to meet requirements of the ECERS-3/ITERS-3
  • Display pictures, children’s artwork, and create classroom bulletin boards
  • Provide a safe, clean, caregiving environment and practices
  • Use Conscious Discipline in handling discipline promptly in an age-appropriate manner and in accordance with stated policy on discipline
  • Communicating regularly with parents/guardians of children in your care using Procare
  • Be familiar with and follow all policies of This Is My Child as well as regulations governing the operation of a childcare center as outlined in the Regulations for Private and Public Child Care Centers of the South Carolina Department of Social Services

Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • No conviction of any of the following crimes: any crime listed in Chapter 3 of Title 16, Offenses against the Person; any crime listed in Chapter 15 of Title 26, Offences Against Morality and Decency; contributing to the delinquency of a minor; child abuse or neglect.
  • Good health and ability to work with young children as confirmed by a physician’s statement
  • Negative TB Test
  • Fingerprint clearance/SLED check

Nice To Haves
  • Minimum AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Development or its equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience as a caregiver in a DSS licensed childcare facility
