SUMMARY

The Mid-Level Gift Officer is responsible for executing engagement and fundraising strategies for a defined portfolio of donors contributing between $1,000 and $9,999. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships that increase donor retention, deepen engagement, and grow giving over time.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Individual Giving, this position plays a key role in implementing donor strategies developed for the annual giving portfolio under $10,000. The Mid-Level Gift Officer provides insight and feedback to inform strategies for donors in the $1,000–$9,999 range and is accountable for executing those strategies to achieve revenue and engagement goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Portfolio Management & Donor Engagement:

  • Manages a defined portfolio of approximately 150–200 mid-level donors and prospects ($1,000–$9,999) to achieve annual revenue and engagement goals
  • Executes strategies for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned donors
  • Builds and maintains strong donor relationships through personalized outreach including meetings, calls, written communication, and events
  • Develops individualized engagement plans to move donors toward increased giving and long-term philanthropic investment

Strategy Execution & Collaboration:

  • Executes donor strategies developed in collaboration with the Associate Director of Individual Giving
  • Provides ongoing input and frontline insights to inform strategy development for the mid-level donor segment ($1,000–$9,999)
  • Collaborates with the Associate Director to refine messaging, engagement tactics, and upgrade pathways
  • Partners with the Donor Stewardship Coordinator to enhance the donor experience through events, communications, and recognition

Donor Growth & Pipeline Development:

  • Identifies and qualifies new mid-level donor prospects
  • Supports movement of donors into higher giving levels, including Leadership Giving and Tocqueville Society pathways
  • Collaborates with the Major Gifts team to identify and transition donors ready for major gift engagement

Data, Systems & Performance Tracking:

  • Maintains accurate and timely donor records in CRM systems
  • Tracks portfolio activity, progress toward goals, and donor movement
  • Uses data to inform outreach priorities and identify opportunities for growth
  • Ensures adherence to performance metrics established by the CDO, Sr. Director and Associate Director of Individual Giving

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Works with Marketing & Communications to support donor messaging and campaigns
  • Partners with Community Impact to connect donor investments to meaningful outcomes
  • Collaborates with Workplace and Corporate Giving teams to ensure consistent donor engagement across channels

ROLE CLARITY WITHIN INDIVIDUAL GIVING STRUCTURE

Associate Director of Individual Giving:

  • Develops strategy for all donors under $10,000
  • Oversees execution across all segments
  • Directly manages execution for donors under $1,000

Mid-Level Gift Officer:

  • Provides input into strategy for donors $1,000–$9,999
  • Leads execution of strategy for this portfolio
  • Accountable for relationship management and revenue outcomes within assigned portfolio

  • Demonstrated success meeting performance or revenue goals

REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Individual Giving

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None

WORK SCHEDULE AND TRAVEL: Hybrid. Local travel required. Some Nights and Weekend Events

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $62,354-$70,040
