Job description

Who are we?

Smarsh empowers its customers to manage risk and unleash intelligence in their digital communications. Our growing community of over 6500 organizations in regulated industries counts on Smarsh every day to help them spot compliance, legal or reputational risks in 80+ communication channels before those risks become regulatory fines or headlines.  Relentless innovation has fueled our journey to consistent leadership recognition from analysts like Gartner and Forrester, and our sustained, aggressive growth has landed Smarsh in the annual Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing American companies since 2008.

Smarsh is seeking a Mid-Level HR Systems Engineer to support and maintain the HR technology ecosystem, including BambooHR, Lever, Lattice, ADP, and related platforms. This role starts by gaining deep working knowledge of the current tools, their configurations, and how they integrate with each other and with Okta and other applications. From there, the role will support day-to-day system changes and help inform whether and how the organization should strengthen its HR tooling. This position has room to grow in scope as HR systems strategy matures.

What will you do?
  • Administer and support daily configuration changes across BambooHR, Lever, Lattice, ADP, and other HR systems
  • Build and maintain a current-state map of HR systems, their configurations, and how data flows between them
  • Document and maintain integrations between HR platforms and with Okta (identity/provisioning) and NetSuite (finance/HRIS data flows)
  • Serve as a point of escalation for HR systems issues raised by HR, People Ops, and end users
  • Partner with IT Operations Team Members and InfoSec on access provisioning/deprovisioning tied to HR system changes (joiners, movers, leavers)
  • Evaluate the current HR tooling landscape and identify gaps, redundancies, or risks in the existing stack
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, integration architecture, and change history
  • Support audits and compliance efforts requiring HR systems evidence (e.g. SOC 2, access reviews)
What will you bring?
  • 3+ years of experience administering HR systems (BambooHR, Lever, Lattice, ADP, Workday, or similar)
  • Experience mapping or maintaining integrations between SaaS platforms (API-based, middleware, or native connectors)
  • Familiarity with identity/provisioning concepts (Okta or similar IDP)
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP/finance systems, particularly around data integration points
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills - able to translate a messy current-state into a coherent system/integration map
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, IT, and Finance stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience evaluating or taking part in an HR systems vendor selection/migration
  • Exposure to SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks
$100,000 - $115,000 a year
The above salary range represents Smarsh's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. Any applicable bonus programs will be discussed during the recruiting process.

The salary for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, location, specialty and training.

Local cost of living assessments are done for each new hire at the time of offer.
