The AIEnabled Full Stack Developer plays a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highquality applications while leveraging modern AI tools and platforms to accelerate delivery and improve application intelligence. This role is responsible for endtoend frontend and backend development and for integrating AIdriven capabilities such as intelligent automation, AI agents, and large language model (LLM) services into enterprise applications.

This position requires a strong foundation in full stack development combined with handson experience using AIassisted coding tools, AI APIs, and emerging AI enablement frameworks. The developer collaborates closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver innovative, maintainable, and performant solutions that align with business objectives.

  • AIEnabled Application Development:
Integrate AI services and capabilities into applications, including LLM APIs, AI agents, intelligent search, summarization, recommendations, and workflow automation. Prototype quickly, then harden solutions for production with monitoring, logging, evaluation, and performance optimization.
  • AIAssisted Coding & Tooling:
Leverage AI coding tools (e.g., copilots, code generation, refactoring, and test generation tools) to improve development speed, code quality, and maintainability. Implement guardrails for AI systems including prompt safety, data protection, hallucination mitigation, access control, and output validation.
  • System Integration:
Seamlessly integrate frontend, backend, AI services, and thirdparty systems to deliver cohesive and performant user experiences.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance:
Write, execute, and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and AIassisted test generation, to ensure application stability and reliability.
  • Maintenance & Optimization:
Maintain and enhance existing applications, optimizing performance, security, and scalability while incorporating AIdriven improvements where appropriate.
  • Security & Compliance:

What this role is:

We are looking for a senior full-stack developer with hands-on production AI experience to design, build, and maintain AI-augmented features in our healthcare technology stack. You will work on services that integrate large-language-model APIs into clinical and administrative workflows, with HIPAA-aware data handling at every step.

You will write code in React/TypeScript on the frontend, Node.js/Express on the backend, and target Microsoft Azure. You will own production reliability and will be on call for the systems you ship.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Five (5) or more years of professional software engineering experience after completing your bachelor's degree. Internships and co-ops do not count toward this minimum.
    • Production experience shipping React/TypeScript frontends. We will ask you to walk through a specific PR you wrote in your last role.
    • Production experience shipping Node.js/Express backends. We will ask you about middleware, error handling, and graceful degradation.
    • Production experience integrating an LLM API (Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI direct, or equivalent) into a real system that real users used. You should be able to describe the rate limit, the failure modes, and the fallback strategy you used.
    • Prototype quickly, then harden for production: monitoring, logging, evaluation, and performance optimization.
    • Implement guardrails for AI systems including prompt safety, data protection, hallucination mitigation, and output validation.
    • Write and maintain automated tests including unit, integration, and AI-assisted test generation.
    • Comfort with Microsoft Azure deployment (Azure App Service, Azure Functions, or Azure Kubernetes Service) OR comparable experience with another major cloud provider with a stated willingness to ramp on Azure within the first 90 days.
    • Comfort with relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent). You will own SQL queries that a real clinician depends on; you should know what an execution plan is and when to look at one.
    • Apply secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles throughout the development lifecycle.
    • Partner with security and compliance on responsible AI usage, PHI data governance, HIPAA requirements, and the practical implications of healthcare data handling.
    • Produce clear documentation for codebases, APIs, and AI integrations.
    • Work closely with product owners, designers, and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and recommend practical adoption opportunities.
    • US-based, currently authorized to work in the US without employer-sponsored work authorization (now or in the future). This role does not offer H-1B, OPT, or other employer-sponsored work visas.

    Strongly preferred

    • Direct experience with Anthropic's Claude API (Messages API, tool use, prompt caching) or Azure OpenAI Service.
    • Experience building AI agent workflows, multi-agent orchestration, or tool-calling systems.
    • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, Claude Code, or agentic coding tools as part of your own development practice.
    • Behavioral health, mental health, or employee assistance program domain knowledge.
