Job description

Matheny Motor Truck Company is seeking skilled and experienced Mobile Truck Technician to join our Fire and Emergency Team. The successful candidate will be very detailed oriented, a true technician skilled electrician and mechanic. This person should be versed in PMโ€™s, brakes, steering, suspension, pumps, valves, preferably foam systems and both 12 VDC and 120/240 VAC generators.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair fire pump issues

Diagnose and repair aerial ladder issues

Assemble Under dash harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards, and a variety of different electrical components

Programming lights from customers specs

Troubleshoot 12V DC and 120V AC circuitry

Test products to ensure performance to customers specifications

Reading specs to make sure the trucks are built per spec

Perform functionality checks on airhorns, sirens, light packages, flash patterns, door locks Etc.

Identify and fix quality issues

Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions

Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements

Communicate issues or delays immediately to management

Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

ASE Certification preferred

EVT Certification preffered

Truck Mechanic experience- Mid-level

High school diploma or GED

Driver's License CDL Class B with Air

Electrical experience

Manufacturing, installation

High school diploma or GED

Preferred 4 plus years of truck or automotive electrical experience in a manufacturing environment

EVT / ASE certification preferred (or is willing to obtain certifications)

Strong technical performance record

Unrestricted CDL driver's license and clean driving record

Neat, clean, and professional appearance

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job

Any manufacturer certifications from prior employment (EONE, Spartan, Road rescue, Wheeled Coach Pierce, etc.) desired

Must own and can use common hand tools and power tools such as drills, and screw guns

Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance

Physical Demands:

Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders and scaffolding

Ability to regularly lift and move 40 lbs. without assistance

Ability to work with arms above head

Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.

Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments
