Laulea Engineering is pleased to announce a job opportunity for a mid-level civil/environmental licensed P.E. searching for a creative and fulfilling career position, to join our engineering team. Laulea Engineering is a civil/environmental engineering boutique firm that focuses on projects for on-site wastewater treatment systems, environmental compliance, site-civil development and storm water design and compliance. Laulea is focused on delivering high quality projects and operating within a triple-bottom-line model.
Job Description:
  • Produce designs using AutoCAD; prepare engineering plan sets for permitting and construction
  • Effectively and efficiently write technical engineering reports.
  • Conduct field investigations to gather pertinent data for specific projects and perform field tests/work (includes percolation tests, sampling for environmental compliance reports).
  • Work independently and collaboratively (with team members and clients) on assigned projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Employ the principles, practices, and processes of efficient and effective design solutions and problem solving to assigned civil and environmental projects.
  • Know the nuances to successful project completion in Hawaii.
  • Assist in project management, develop project schedules, and monitor project budgets.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or similar.
  • Licensed PE OR EIT preparing to take PE test within the next year.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously; also able to effectively collaborate with a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with various projects and schedules.
  • Ability to understand architectural/engineer drawings.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and operating vehicle.
  • Possess a computer/laptop and mobile phone.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work outdoors for extended periods of time.

Job Details:
  • Hybrid work environment.
  • Job will be full-time, 40 hours per week, with flexible work schedules.
  • Pay will be negotiable based on experience.

Equipment used:
  • Desktop or laptop computer.
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, mainly Autodesk.
  • Spreadsheet, PDF, and word processing software.
  • One-person auger and drill bit, and hand tools.
  • Sampling and testing equipment for various items (e.g. groundwater, soil, injection well wastewater effluent) for environmental and agency compliance.
