As a Microstation Drafter, your daily tasks often involve creating, editing, and managing technical drawings and plans for infrastructure projects such as highways, utilities, bridges, or site developments. You may be responsible for translating engineers’ sketches and specifications into detailed CAD designs, incorporating redlines, and ensuring compliance with industry or client standards. Collaboration is common, as you'll often work closely with engineers, surveyors, and other team members to deliver accurate and timely project documentation. Depending on the employer, there may also be opportunities to assist with field data integration or support project meetings. This hands-on involvement provides valuable exposure to a variety of disciplines and can open up pathways for advancement into senior drafting, design, or project management roles.
