An ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
8 years of experience in engineering, construction or surveying with at least 3 years
of competent plan production and knowledge of field construction requirements.
Minimum high school diploma but a degree in engineering, surveying or
construction may benefit.
Travel is expected to be 10-20% based on project needs. Travel will be to collect and
verify field data, observe construction activities, and attend meetings.
Must be able to work in a collaborative fast-paced environment.
Land surveying knowledge related to site controls, state plane coordinate system
datum, field data processing, and survey instrumentation is needed to coordinate
with the team members. Field survey experience is a plus or willingness to learn is a
plus.
Experience with grading design using Civil 3D. Knowledge of stormwater
management calculations, stormwater treatment methods, pipe sizing, and erosion
prevention and sediment control measures.
Experience with structural design, concrete construction processes, electrical, and
utilities is a plus.
Experience with concrete paving designs is a plus.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the employee include:
Assist construction and engineering department in obtaining accurate field data,
measurements, and other information needed to produce design documents for
stormwater, grading, structures, equipment assembly, utilities and site plans.
Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Knowledge of the ability to obtain information such as zoning, design regulations,
permit requirements, floodplains, wetlands, and soils information.
Create base mapping using field collected data and land surveys in various formats
including point clouds, LIDAR, etc...
Create design drawings for civil and structure construction and maintenance
projects. Utilize Civil 3D feature lines, corridors, and manual methods to produce
grading designs and convey the designs to the construction team in a plan set
meeting the company standards.
Work with site managers, engineers and construction team members to review
project goals, identify information needed for design, identify potential conflicts,
and to present designs and receive feedback to incorporate into final construction
plans.
Visit construction sites to observe work. Work with the construction manager and
engineering team to quickly and eƯectively resolve construction issues
Generate and review shop drawings to confirm compliance with design intent.
Understand construction site safety and special considerations associated with
metals recycling facilities and equipment. Conduct all work in compliance with
safety standards.

o Sitting: Ability to sit at a desk and look at a computer screen for 8 to 10 hours
a day.
o Hand control: Fine motor skills to use a computer mouse, keyboard, and
specialized design tools steadily.
Field and Site Visit Demands:
o Equipment & Tools: Yard equipment, hand tools, and PPE.
o Occasional walking: Ability to walk on uneven ground or construction sites
during brief visits.
o Safety gear: Ability to wear standard protective gear like a hard hat and highvisibility vest when visiting active project locations.
o Lifting: ability to lift 70lbs
