Spherion has a temp to hire opening for a Civil CADD Drafter in the Opelousas, LA area.
This full-time, on-site role focuses on creating technical civil engineering plans, including bridges, roads, and general infrastructure, primarily using MicroStation. You will work side-by-side with project managers and engineers to build accurate construction submittals (alignments, profiles, quantity estimations) that meet Louisiana DOTD guidelines.
Schedule: Full-time, 40-hour workweek. Exact daily hours will be determined upon hire, but will fall within the company's operating hours of Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Pay Rate: $18-35/hr. Depending on Experience
Responsibilities:
- Software Expertise: Create detailed civil, bridge, and roadway plan packages primarily using MicroStation (OpenRoads/InRoads familiarity is a plus).
- Technical Mapping: Develop accurate project alignments, elevation profiles, cross-sections, and material quantity estimations.
- Regulatory Alignment: Follow all Louisiana DOTD CAD specifications, guidelines, and standards across every drawing.

- Cross-Team Coordination: Work alongside project managers, engineers, and surveyors to advance design plans efficiently.
-Data Management: Keep drawing files organized, precise, and strictly aligned with established CAD protocols.
-Quality Assurance: Conduct detailed drafting QA/QC reviews to maintain high accuracy and meet strict project schedules.
-General Project Support: Assist with supplemental drafting tasks across various civil engineering initiatives as needed.
