Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Structural / Bridge Drafter to join our growing our SoCal Bridge Group in San Diego, California!
The ideal candidate will participate in and contribute to a diverse range of engineering services in our team-oriented environment providing public and private clients with professional engineering services for structural design projects including bridges, culverts, retaining walls. The work is often fast paced with multiple ongoing projects and deliverables, including a wide variety of tasks with competing priorities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent inter-personal skills for working in multiple group settings, and a strong desire to learn, grow, and succeed. This position is available as an in-office or hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities would include:
  • Producing preliminary and final design plans for multiple jurisdictions
  • Producing CADD design and detailing of contract drawings using Microstation and or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Creating exhibits to be used at client meetings and interviews
  • Reviewing shop drawings, erection procedures and performing construction administration duties
  • Reading and interpreting agency standard drawings and specifications
  • Preparing documents for federal, state and local permits

Minimum Requirements:
  • Associates degree in CADD Technology or Drafting
  • 2 - 4 years experience in structural design
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microstation
  • Experience working with Caltrans is a plus
