Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer II to join our team in Crane, Indiana. This is an onsite position. As a core member, you will assist in the research & design, engineering, integration, testing, training, logistics, laboratory research, field engineering, and acquisition and operations analysis in support of a variety of Navy and Marine Corps programs and projects with a focus on defensive cyber technologies, mission assurance, and resilience capabilities for the tactical network environment. Your effort will go towards dramatically increasing the warfighter's effectiveness. If you enjoy working on a highly collaborative and dynamic team and want to make a difference for the warfighter, then we would love to have you on our team! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Assist in collecting and organizing information for preparation of user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports
* Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents
* Translate technical information into clear and concise documentation that is easily understandable by end-users
* Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of all technical documentation produced
* Organize and structure information effectively to facilitate easy navigation and retrieval of documentation
* Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and readability
* Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and make recommendations for process improvements Minimum Qualifications: * BA/BS degree or High School Diploma and 6 years of additional relevant experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelors degree
* 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
* Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field
* Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
* Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences Preferred Qualifications: * Masters Degree or PHD
* Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
* Firm understanding of SDLC (systems development lifecycle) Clearance Requirements: * Must have a current and active Secret clearance Physical Requirements: * The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
* Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
