The Position

Are you a skilled Software Engineer with a strong foundation in the Microsoft development stack? Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain desktop and web applications that support our manufacturing and business operations, partnering closely with business, engineering, and IT leaders to modernize and scale our core software systems. 

This is an onsite position located in West Chester, OH. LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY

About the role:

  • Software Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain robust desktop (WPF/WinForms) and web (Blazor) applications within the Microsoft ecosystem based on business requirements.
  • Code Quality & Mentorship: Participate in code reviews, uphold clean coding standards and best practices, and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers as needed.
  • System Architecture & Optimization: Drive the modernization, performance tuning, and scaling of core business applications and complex SQL Server database frameworks (stored procedures, data models).
  • Technical Solutioning: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex manufacturing calculations and product criteria into automated, repeatable software logic.
  • IT & DevOps Collaboration: Assist in managing application lifecycle environments, establishing CI/CD deployment pipelines, and ensuring seamless software integration with internal network infrastructure.
  • Requirement Analysis: Gather technical specifications from business leaders, establish project scopes, and provide technical feasibility assessments. 

Qualifications:

Required Technical Expertise:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field (or an equivalent combination of verified professional experience and education).
  • Development Ecosystem: 3+ years of professional experience developing in C# and the .NET ecosystem utilizing Visual Studio.
  • Desktop & Web Frameworks: Strong hands-on experience building user interfaces and applications using .NET, including WPF, WinForms, and Blazor, along with modern API integrations.
  • Database Systems: Deep understanding of SQL Server, database design, query optimization, and T-SQL. 

Core Professional Competencies: 

  • Leadership & Ownership: Ability to take complete ownership of product modules, manage project timelines autonomously, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Exceptional attention to detail with a logical, systematic approach to debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance bottlenecking.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills to translate complex code requirements into clear updates for non-technical business headers.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience setting up CI/CD workflows (Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure/AWS) and web deployment technologies (ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with Python for scripting or general automation tasks.Exposure to engineering environments, CAD workflows, or design software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Inventor, or SolidWorks).
