Position: SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Administrator
Responsible to: Director of IT
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)
Background: Girls Inc. is a network of local organizations that works with schools and in communities across the United States and Canada. Through direct service and advocacy, Girls Inc. equips girls with the knowledge and skills to effect positive changes in their lives and to become leaders who will change the world. Together with partners and supporters, Girls Inc. is building the new generation of leaders. Join us at girlsinc.org
Departmental Role: Strengthen the HQ organization so it provides the most effective and efficient support and resources to Affiliates.
Position Summary: Girls Inc. is looking for an Administrator for our tenant who has hands-on SharePoint and Microsoft 365 experience to own the day-to-day configuration, customization, administration, and user support for our SharePoint Online environment. This professional will serve as our internal technical point of contact for the broader M365 tenant. You'll work closely with our IT Director and our outsourced managed services provider (MSP) to plan and execute configuration changes across SharePoint, Teams, and related M365 services. This position supports 60 headquarters staff in 3 locations, as well as roughly 2,500 "guest" read-only users across our national network of affiliates.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer SharePoint Online: site collections, hub sites, and Microsoft Teams architecture, permissions, and governance for a growing, multi-affiliate environment.
  • Design, build, and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, lists, libraries, and Power Automate flows to support internal teams and Power Pages for affiliate-facing resources.
  • Manage the Organization Assets Library and branded template experience. Provide day-to-day end-user support and training for SharePoint and related M365 tools (Teams, OneDrive, Excel, Word, Forms, Planner, Loop, etc.) across headquarters and affiliate staff.
  • Partner with our M365 managed services provider to scope, test, and implement tenant configuration changes (security groups, conditional access, sharing policies, license assignment), translating business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Support identity and access processes for affiliate users, including guest account lifecycle, provisioning, and federation-related troubleshooting.
  • Document configurations, standard operating procedures, and end-user guides; contribute to change management communications for technology rollouts.
  • Monitor SharePoint/M365 health, security alerts, and compliance considerations; escalate and coordinate remediation with the MSP as needed. Review MS "update list" weekly and notify HQ about changes.

Requirements
Job Qualifications and Skills:
  • 3+ years of administering SharePoint Online in a Microsoft 365 environment (site architecture, permissions, and workflows with Power Automate; Document Automation, Power Pages and Power Apps a plus).
  • Working knowledge of the broader M365 admin center: Entra ID/Azure AD basics, Teams administration, OneDrive, and license management.
  • Comfort acting as a liaison with a third-party MSP - able to write clear tickets/requirements and validate that changes were implemented correctly.
  • Strong troubleshooting, end-user support and training skills; able to explain technical concepts in plain language to non-technical staff.
  • Experience with PowerShell for SharePoint/M365 administration is a plus.
  • Nonprofit, multi-site, or franchise/affiliate network experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfortable working in a partially outsourced IT environment, coordinating across vendors rather than a large internal team.

Girls Inc. Benefits:
  • 2-day hybrid work schedule out of our INDY office
  • Vacation, Sick, & Personal Time + 11 company holidays
  • Healthcare, vision, and dental insurance
  • Gente Card (HRA benefit) provided by Girls Inc.
