Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Microsoft 365 Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's Microsoft 365 environment. This position manages core Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, licensing, and tenant administration. The role also supports identity management, security and compliance initiatives, Azure integrations, and Power Platform solutions. Working closely with IT teams and business stakeholders, the Microsoft 365 Administrator ensures system reliability, security, governance, and operational efficiency across the Microsoft ecosystem.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Administer, maintain, and optimize the Microsoft 365 tenant using the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  2. Manage Entra ID (Azure AD), including user and group administration, role assignments, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and conditional access policies.
  3. Oversee Microsoft 365 licensing, utilization, and cost management to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  4. Administer and support Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive, including configuration, governance, permissions, policies, and troubleshooting.
  5. Design, build, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, templates, and collaboration solutions to support business operations.
  6. Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and serve as the escalation point for Microsoft 365-related issues.
  7. Support Azure administration activities related to identity management, security, and hybrid environment integrations.
  8. Administer and support Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps environments, connectors, application lifecycle management, and Power BI workspaces, datasets, publishing, and access controls.
  9. Implement and maintain security, compliance, retention, and data loss prevention (DLP) controls, while developing and maintaining system documentation, standard operating procedures, and end-user guidance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT related roles years with education is desirable.
  • Microsoft Certificates Preferred
  • Azure and O365 experience required.
