Micro QC Analyst I
Location: Ridgefield, NJ
Pay Rate: $38.00/hour
Position Type: Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Micro QC Analyst I to join a Quality Control Microbiology team in Ridgefield, NJ. This role is responsible for supporting microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, laboratory documentation, and quality compliance within a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on microbiology laboratory experience, strong technical writing skills, and experience working in regulated laboratory settings.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine microbiological testing in support of quality control operations.

  • Conduct environmental monitoring (EM) of aseptic manufacturing areas (Grade A–D).

  • Perform bioburden testing, membrane filtration, sterility testing, and other microbiological assays.

  • Support testing related to endotoxin, conductivity, and Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analysis.

  • Enter and review laboratory data in LIMS, logbooks, and electronic databases.

  • Review, create, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Assist with Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations, deviation reports, and change controls.

  • Maintain laboratory inventory by ordering and stocking supplies.

  • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, company procedures, and safety requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support laboratory and manufacturing operations.

  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and technical reports.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a collaborative laboratory environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related Life Science.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or laboratory environment.

  • Hands-on microbiology laboratory experience working with bacteria, yeast, and mold.

  • Experience performing quality control microbiology testing.

  • Working knowledge of cGMP regulations.

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:

    • Environmental Monitoring (EM)

    • Bioburden testing

    • Membrane filtration

    • Sterility isolator testing

    • Endotoxin testing

    • Total Organic Carbon (TOC)

    • Conductivity testing

  • Experience authoring and revising SOPs.

  • Experience with OOS investigations and change controls.

  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Schedule
Two shift options are available:

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Some flexibility in start and end times may be available. Weekend work and overtime may be required based on business needs.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

  • Ability to kneel, reach, and stretch.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours).


Pay Details: $38.00 per hour
