Job description

Summary Description:
Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, is looking for an experienced and talented Manager, Applications Engineering to take on a critical role with expansive responsibilities to enhance Applications Engineering in a growing organization.
The Manager, Applications Engineering, will be responsible for technical success in growth of sensors business which includes MEMS microphones and Vibration sensors. The position will lead a global engineering team, ensuring customer support, roadmap definition and product demonstration. This position will also play a key role in Syntiant Edge AI product portfolio supporting sensor needs for physical AI solutions.
Requirements
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for customers and sales teams, providing support for product evaluations, integrations, troubleshooting, and technical escalations.
  • Partner with Product Management and R&D to help define the sensor product roadmap, conduct competitive analysis, and represent customer and market requirements.
  • Lead the development of product demonstrations, application notes, reference designs, and other technical content that supports customer success and product adoption.
  • Own and maintain customer-facing technical documentation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Lead and develop a globally distributed Applications Engineering team, driving technical excellence, collaboration, performance, and career growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering to ensure customer feedback influences product strategy and development.
  • Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to support customers, partners, and business objectives.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor/sensors field.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated skills in performance management, decision making, conflict resolution and inspiring others.
  • Proven track record bringing products to mass production with high volume consumer electronics devices.
  • Excellent technical domain knowledge. Relevant areas of expertise: MEMS sensors, audio, vibration.
  • Excellent soft skills for product presentation and success in cross functional engineering development.
  • Valuable experience: audio, microphones, vibration sensors, MEMS, audio DSP, high-volume semiconductor manufacturing, audio algorithms, audio AI applications.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $175,000 - $200,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person(s) we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
