Lead Pastor (Full-Time)

Moosic Alliance Community Church

Moosic, PA is one of the smaller communities stretching from Scranton to Wilkes-Barre in northeast Pennsylvania. The church is debt free and has been part of this region since 1973.

Description of Position

The church is seeking a lead pastor who can work with the elders and church leaders to develop people as disciples who make disciples. The pastor will, along with the church leadership, create a clear system and structure for how people can get connected, be discipled, serve, be cared for, multiply, and reach the community.

Minimum Education Level

Associates's Degree (Including or in addition to a minimum of 30 credit hours of Bible, theology, and ministry study)

Minimum Years of Experience

The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience as a staff pastor.

Minimum Credential Level

Must be willing to begin the Alliance ordination process

Church History

In the 1890s, Rev. William T. MacArthur was sent to launch a church in the Pittston, PA area. The church grew and expanded its outreach throughout northeastern Pennsylvania, establishing daughter churches in towns like Duryea, Avoca, Glendale, and Moosic (now Moosic Alliance Community Church) through innovative "cell church" methods. More than 40 people from this movement eventually entered full-time ministry, missions, and Christian education, demonstrating how God can use humble beginnings for great purposes.
