Role: The Director of Youth Ministries provides spiritual leadership for students in grades 6–12 by developing a welcoming, disciple-making ministry that reaches new students, strengthens Christian faith, and equips young people to serve Christ in their schools, homes, church, and community.
Overview: Englewood Methodist Church is seeking a passionate, relational, and Christ-centered leader to build meaningful relationships with students and their families while leading a thriving ministry for middle and high school youth. This individual will disciple students in their faith, equip volunteers, partner with parents, and create opportunities for students to Gather, Grow, and Go as followers of Jesus Christ.
Schedule – This is a full-time position, a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.
Supervision – The Director of Youth Ministries reports to the pastors and will relate fully to the rest of the staff and the Guide Team. The pastors will be responsible for evaluating the job performance.
Collaboration – The Director of Youth Ministries will work to cast a vision for the future of the EMC Youth Ministries in partnership with pastoral guidance. The Director of Youth Ministry will work in collaboration with the Director of Children’s Ministry to ensure alignment of activities and opportunities and provide a path for movement from one program to the other.
General Duties:
The Director’s duties include implementation and coordination of a comprehensive and sustainable Youth Ministry program that follows the Church Safe sanctuary policy and that provides youth (and families with children) opportunities to Gather, Grow, and Go. The Director shall maintain a regular presence in students' lives by spending approximately 5–10 hours each week at schools, athletic and music events, and other extracurricular activities.
