Position title: Outreach and Development Pastor

Status: Full time or Part time. Position is flexible

Compensation: Fundraised through Reliant and Housing stipend

Location: Auburn Hills, MI.

Reports to: Lead pastor and Eldership

Church Summary

Foundation Christian Church is a church plant associated with the Collegiate Church Network. The church is located in Auburn Hills, MI and serves Oakland County and Oakland University. The church plant launched in January of 2025 and averages 30 attendee per weekend. The church's mission is build and establish foundations on the Lord that all may come to know Him, love Him, and live for Him. We follow a relational model of ministry and emphasize obedience-based discipleship, evangelism, and community. Our church utilizes an acrostic, ACTS, to explain our mission. We devote ourselves to the apostles teaching (A), community (C), to prayer and the breaking of bread (T), and to sharing the workload of ministry (S). Our methodology within and out of services is reflected by this model.

The Outreach and Development Pastor is to be a godly man committed to continually growing in Christ. This person should be a person of integrity, character, and meet the qualifications for eldership outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. This candidate should be marked by humility and a servants heart towards the Lord and others with a desire to grow in wisdom and knowledge. This candidate demonstrates an active role in the great commission through evangelism and disciple making. He resonates deeply with our mission and methodology to build foundations on Christ.Detailed job description:

The primary responsibilities of the Outreach and Development Pastor are entrepreneurial, evangelistic, and shepherding. This role requires someone eager to pioneer and establish new ministries and outreach opportunities that align with FCC's mission. These responsibilities aim to reach the lost, empower the saved, and develop the church body.

Initiate and develop outreach strategies to engage the community with the gospel.

Foster relationships with nonprofits and organizations in the Auburn Hills area to create opportunities to serve.

Meet biweekly with 5 individuals for discipleship or evangelism.

Provide training to equip the congregation to engage in outreach and evangelism.

Identify underprivileged and needy populations for FCC to serve.

Teach spiritual development classes for the church.

Provide exegetical preaching to assist the lead pastor on Sunday mornings (frequency to be determined).

Assist lead pastor in development of sermon series.

Meet weekly with the lead pastor to discuss progress and plan for future events.

Recruit, train, and launch teams to lead new ministry initiatives.

Partner with Reliant to raise personal financial support for salary.

In this application, you will go through a series of stages:

  1. Application - This is the initial application for Reliant.
  2. Ministry Assessment - This assesses your readiness for your ministry role.
  3. Moral Conduct - This assesses your emotional and character-based readiness for a role in ministry.
  4. Local Interview - In this phase, you will do an interview with your church leadership.
  5. Reliant Review - Reliant will review all the pieces of your application and create a summary to discuss with your local church.
  6. Decision/Discernment - Reliant and your church will come together to make an employment decision.
  7. Provisionally Accepted - If you are accepted onto staff, you will have the opportunity to accept your offer, if desired.
  8. Onboarding - This will include online (and potentially in-person) training and HR paperwork. This is designed to prepare you to become a Reliant employee, as well as ready you to raise financial support.
