Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: On-site | Full-Tim


Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and hands-on Laboratory Technician to support testing and quality control efforts at a greenfield superalloy manufacturing facility. This role will be based full-time on-site and play a critical role in preparing samples, operating analytical instruments, and maintaining laboratory standards in support of production and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will bring a methodical mindset, strong attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring material consistency and product integrity in a high-tech metal's environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere strictly to company safety protocols and promote a safety-first culture within the lab and facility.

  • Prepare test specimens using equipment such as robotic mills, automated grinders, drill presses, and metal digestion systems.

  • Conduct chemical and metallurgical analysis using equipment including Leco combustion and gas fusion analyzers, spectrometers, and powder characterization tools.

  • Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods to ensure compliance with internal specifications and customer quality standards.

  • Accurately document test results, perform data analysis, and contribute conclusions regarding material conformity.

  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on sample prep equipment and analytical instruments.

  • Assist in equipment calibration and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and uptime.

  • Support the development and refinement of laboratory test procedures and best practices.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support process control, continuous improvement, and nonconformance investigations.

  • Aid in the preparation and submission of documentation for regulatory and quality compliance.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related technical field – OR – at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a metals testing laboratory environment.

  • Experience operating laboratory equipment for elemental and powder analysis.

  • Familiarity with quality standards, testing protocols, and laboratory safety practices.

  • Proficiency in data entry, analysis, and reporting using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
