Job description

The Process Engineer will perform routine entry to advanced level engineering tasks under the direct supervision of the shop managers and/or Director of Melting, with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering and managerial skills. The Process Engineer will be involved in the development of new equipment and processes, when necessary.

*This is an onsite position in Coal Center, PA.

 Key Result Accountabilities

  • Provides general support to the engineering department. Provides specific support to the assigned operation.
  • Oversees and assess existing processes and workflows.
  • Optimizes productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new procedures.
  • Assembles reports to document process status and changes.
  • Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.
  • Communicates findings and proposals to shop manager and upper management, upon request.
  • Provides thorough instructions and training for successful implementation of process changes.
  • Assess compliance with applicable safety and quality standards and works with cross-functional partners to address areas of concern.
  • Verifies and tests assigned metrics on projects.
  • Enters test results into quality control database.
  • Identifies potential areas of product and process improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable company and client quality requirements in all assigned programs, functions, products, and areas.
  • Identifies and reports problems with specific processes or products to shop manager and metallurgical staff, when needed.
  • Involved in the development of new methods to improve product quality and process efficacy and efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy or Material Science, preferred.
  • Internship in related field highly desired.
  • Experience using an ERP database, a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
  • Basic understanding of ISO-9000.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
