Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for our Metallurgical & Corrosion Engineering Practice in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will work as part of a team to conduct metallurgical, materials, and mechanical failure analyses

You will be responsible for
  • Conducting hands-on and desktop-based failure analyses
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory tests
  • Conducting field inspections
  • Reviewing and interpreting technical documentation
  • Communicating effectively with other engineers and technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff
  • Generating written work product (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, long-form written technical reports)
  • Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff
  • Manage the day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering or related field and familiarity with Mechanical Engineering 
  • Knowledge of mechanical testing, corrosion science, aviation/aerospace, power generation, turbines, and failure analysis is desired 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
  • The ability to travel as-needed
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the US, no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required
