Job description

Metallurgical Engineer
Area: Davenport, IA (On-Site)
Shift: Rotating — Off-Shift/Weekend Coverage Required

Job Summary:

  • Ensure procedures and product/process control across the Sheet Department
  • Resolve quality issues and evaluate products, processes, and equipment based on customer requirements
  • Support product and process development for a 24/7 aluminum rolling mill manufacturing environment
  • Collaborate with support staff, shift leaders, and the hourly workforce to drive continuous improvement
  • Apply engineering fundamentals — statistical methods, physical and mechanical metallurgy, phase diagrams, thermodynamics, and material processing — to production challenges
  • Support quality systems work (IATF16949 or AS9100) and lean manufacturing initiatives where applicable
