Now Hiring: Experienced Slitter Operator - 2nd Shift
Location: Smithfield, RI
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Pay: $21 - $23 per hour (Based on Experience)

Are you an experienced Slitter Operator with a mechanical background and strong math skills? Do you thrive in a hands-on, detail-focused environment? If so, we want you on our 2nd shift team!
We are looking for a skilled professional who can set up and operate slitting machines, inspect materials, and ensure quality production. Prior supervisory experience is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Operate Material Handling Equipment:
  • Must be certified in the material handler position.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

🔹 Slitting Machine Operation & Quality Control:
  • Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.
  • Perform machine setups according to work order specifications.
  • Ensure products meet specifications, record measurements, and follow written work instructions.
  • Communicate with sales representatives regarding order adjustments or clarifications.
  • Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials.

🔹 Maintenance & Safety:
  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance and general cleanup.
  • Maintain all measurement equipment in working condition.
  • Properly operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements.
  • Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.

🔹 Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
  • Provide feedback on machine efficiency and product quality.
  • Assist in lean and quality improvement activities.
  • Train new team members as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High school diploma/GED
Skills & Experience:
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
  • Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Experience using hand-held measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
  • Computer literate-comfortable using technology in daily tasks.
  • Strong safety-first mindset.
