Description

We are excited to add a new Sr. Data Solutions Analyst to the Corporate Finance Data Strategy and Governance Team!

This person will serve as a data steward for Liberty Mutual's financial data. Partnering with the business, IT, and Corporate Finance teams, this person will help shepherd data through our strategic Finance Data Platform (FDP). This includes analysis of source data to determine transformation requirements for standardization, as well as defining the financial data that will be passed to downstream systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Under limited direction, prototype and develop data solutions to meet organizational and business customer needs.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of complex multi-tier, multi-platform systems, and apply principles of metadata, lineage, data dependencies and hierarchy, business definitions, compliance, and data security to project work.
  • Use critical thinking to synthesize varied requirements into actionable, flexible solutions.
  • Design proof-of-concept solutions using an advanced understanding of financial insurance concepts and multiple coding languages to meet technical and business requirements; perform iterative testing to ensure specifications are met.
  • Serve as a technical guide and mentor for junior associates.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and timely.
  • Design and develop data solutions that enable effective self-service data consumption and clearly communicate their value to the customer.
  • Assist stakeholders in defining metrics that are impactful to the business.
  • Prioritize work based on customer value and demonstrate strong knowledge of Agile techniques.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between business and technology teams
  • Set expectations for deliverables of high complexity.
  • Stay current on new technologies and apply them as needed to advance initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to apply Gen AI for data discovery, lineage summarization, automated documentation, general productivity (prompt engineering and code generation)

The actual internal level/grade for this role will depend on the candidate's overall experience and skill level 

  • Senior Data Solutions Analyst: $97,000- $138,000. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 20
  • Principal Data Solutions Analyst: $110,300 - $155,800. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 20
Qualifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred
  • Master`s in same or related disciplines strongly preferred
  • Senior:  3-5 years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack
  • Principal:  5-7 years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack
