Job description

We're Meta's Standalone Apps Team — we build new apps to reach new user scenarios and serve needs that aren't well met today. The project we're building right now is an image-and-text community where real people share first-hand experiences and recommendations — what to try, where to go, how to do something. It's where people come to get inspired and to make every day decisions, learning from others who've actually been there. It's still early — a small team working 0→1.If you want high ownership, a short path from idea to ship, and the chance to shape a product from its first version, this is the kind of team. We're looking for an experienced product manager to help define and drive the product. You'll own meaningful parts of it, set direction with data and judgment, and steer a small team from idea to shipped experience.
Product Manager, Meta Standalone Apps Responsibilities:
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for major areas of the product
  • decide what to build and why
  • Turn a vision into clear, shippable plans
  • drive execution with engineering, design, and data
  • Use research and data to find opportunities, set goals, and measure its impact
  • Make sharp prioritization calls in a fast, ambiguous 0→1 environment
  • Communicate direction and progress clearly to the team and to leadership

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of product management experience for consumer products
  • Track record of shipping products and driving measurable impact
  • Strong product judgments, data fluency, and the ability to lead through influence
  • Experience owning a product area independently end to end

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building a new product from 0→1
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Comfort working closely with ML/ranking on the core experience
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience with content, discovery, community, social, or creator products
