Job description

Job Title: Mess Attendant

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Job Type: Full-Time

Duties:

  • Stock, serve, and replenish food items on the serving line according to the meal schedule.
  • Clean and maintain dining facilities, including tables, chairs, floors, and other areas within the galley.
  • Perform scullery services, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure food service equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized following each meal service.
  • Assist in setting up the serving line prior to meal times and closing it down afterward.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety standards, including the handling and storage of food.
  • Provide courteous and respectful service to all patrons, maintaining professionalism at all times.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a food service or mess attendant role is preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Card.
  • Must pass all required health examinations, including a basic annual physical.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
