Job description

Position Purpose

The Medical Equipment Planner is responsible for managing the capital medical equipment process including planning and programming, cost estimating, inventorying, schedule development, procurement, and implementation for all capital projects. The candidate will be required to successfully plan, manage, and implement medical equipment on multiple healthcare projects simultaneously.

Nature and Scope

As a Medical Equipment Planner, you are expected to develop accurate and timely documentation in support of the successful completion of the project and effectively communicate with all project stakeholders. Incumbent must demonstrate a passion for client satisfaction and possess knowledge of healthcare technology.

This position will work closely with construction project managers, supply chain, IT project managers, designers, and contractors to develop a medical equipment plan and inventory for all construction projects. Candidate must interact regularly with project team members to refine equipment list, develop procurement timelines in accordance with construction schedules, work routinely with equipment vendors and supply chain operations to issue purchase orders, and ensure effective implementation of medical equipment. Candidate will also be expected to develop companywide equipment standards for specific room types and have a working knowledge of infrastructure needs of equipment.

This position is expected to think and operate independently. Must pursue relationships with project stakeholders by proactively seeking information, advice, and experience. Candidate must complete assignments autonomously by staying up to date with industry equipment standards and innovations. Creates plans, seeks feedback, and influences others through technical explanations and examples. Collaborates in a cross functional team to accomplish the project goal. Must maintain great communication and be able to diagnose issues and come up with creative solutions in conjunction with project team.

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor’s degree in medical, healthcare, architecture, engineering, construction management and/or three years’ experience in Engineering, Healthcare, Procurement, Clinical Technology, medical equipment planning or Healthcare Business Administration.

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a medical center. Experience in medical equipment planning, healthcare construction/design or clinical engineering will be given preference.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
