MEP Superintendent
Norfolk, VA
Position Summary
The MEP Superintendent oversees the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes of construction projects in the field. This role coordinates subcontractors, monitors installation and progress, and works closely with the project team to ensure MEP systems are completed safely, correctly, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day MEP activities and subcontractors in the field.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements for MEP systems.
  • Monitor installation for quality, safety, and compliance with project documents.
  • Coordinate MEP work with structural, architectural, and other construction activities.
  • Identify and help resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and communicate progress and concerns to the project team.
  • Monitor MEP schedules, milestones, inspections, testing, and system turnover.
  • Assist with commissioning and project closeout activities.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

Qualifications
  • Construction experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or related building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong field coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, project management, design teams, and other field personnel.
  • Prior supervisory or superintendent experience preferred.
  • Data center, mission-critical, or large commercial construction experience preferred.
