Description
BASIC PURPOSE
Provide testing and technical support in the QC Laboratory. These functions include testing and inspection of raw materials, packaging components, and finished products with general direction provided. Communicates scientific data by preparing technical reports as directed by Manager. Demonstrate good laboratory practices, safety awareness, awareness of and compliance with all regulatory guidelines (cGMP, GLP), comprehension of USP/NF and other applicable test methods, and notebook documentation.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform laboratory testing of materials and products utilizing approved chromatographic (GC & HPLC), wet-chemistry, and spectroscopy methods with assistance as needed.
  • Sample raw materials
  • Sample and inspect packaging components
  • Assist other departments in the collection of data to support new and existing product development.
  • Perform inspections of contract manufactured products per approved procedures
  • Complete customer compliant investigations per approved procedures and Manager direction
  • Perform general laboratory assignments as needed
  • Revise SOPs, QCPs, and other quality control procedures as directed by Manager

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Comprehension and ability to execute QC Laboratory testing following approved methods utilizing chromatography (GC & HPLC), spectroscopy (FTIR), and wet-chemistry techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Detail oriented
  • Competency with Microsoft Excel & Word, and laboratory instrumentation software
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical and technical audiences including oral and written communication
  • Ability to apply cGMP policies within the QC laboratory
  • Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skill sets

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Chemistry or related science
  • 0 -3 years of experience preferred
