Job description

Our Client is currently seeking a Mine Superintendent to oversee all aspects of the mining process including safety and environmental compliance, cost effectiveness, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will help establish and meet targeted short-and mid-range operational goals and budgets of the assigned site.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with management and relevant departments to establish short- and long-term mine plans, strategies, and tactics
  • Work through front-line leaders to communicate and implement goals
  • Monitor daily success metrics and address with front-line leaders
  • Ensure performance management and employee development needs are addressed
  • Collaborate daily with the site team to address production/mill-impacting issues
  • Complete yearly budgeting process: track and adjust as needed
  • Oversee state and federal mine inspections, respond to findings
  • Maintain EHS compliance through expectation-setting, accountability, and performance auditing
  • Participate in continuous EHS improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field

Experience: Minimum 10 years mine operations management and capital project management

  • MSHA certification preferred
  • Valid driverโ€™s license required


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with: Adaptive (Budgeting), DataServ (AP), UKG (HR), AutoCAD, LIMS, ETMS, Tableau, PeopleSoft
  • Deep knowledge of MSHA mine safety regulations
  • Proven ability to lead mining best practices
  • Strong communication skills


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Tools/Technology Use:

  • Regular computer/tablet/phone/radio use; occasional hand tools and hauling equipment

Environment:

  • Frequently underground or outdoors
  • Occasionally near moving parts, vibration, wet/humid conditions
  • Rarely in confined spaces or working at height

Physical:

  • Regular sitting, talking, hearing
  • Frequent standing, walking, driving, wrist/hand/finger motion
  • Occasionally prolonged sitting, reaching, pushing, climbing, stooping, crawling
  • Vision requirements: near/far clarity, depth perception, color
  • Lifting: Occasionally up to 50 lbs; rarely over 51+ lbs
