Job description

Salary:

1)Purpose of Role

upport safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of mine-site construction, industrial, mechanical, civil, and electrical projects by performing entry-level field tasks under direct supervision. Learn GTI work practices, mine-site requirements, safety standards, and construction methods while assisting crews with daily project activities.

2)Scope & Decision Rights

Execute assigned field tasks under the direction of a Foreman, Superintendent, Journeyman, or Lead Worker.

Make routine decisions within established procedures and training while identifying and reporting safety hazards, equipment issues, drawing discrepancies, and site concerns to supervisory personnel.

Follow all client, mine-site, GTI, and regulatory requirements while working in active mining and industrial environments.

3)Essential Duties and Standards

Assist crews with site preparation, material staging, housekeeping, and tool organization. Assist with excavation, concrete work, utility installation, structural steel erection, mechanical installation, electrical work, or other construction activities as assigned. Perform general labor tasks including shoveling, digging, cleanup, traffic control, and material handling. Follow lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other site-specific safety procedures as directed. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times.

Support field documentation through photographs, material tracking, inspections, and daily reporting as assigned.

Participate in daily safety meetings, pre-task planning sessions, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and workplace examinations.

Safely operate basic hand and power tools while maintaining equipment in good working condition.

Load, unload, transport, and organize materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the project site.

5) Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour Constructionrequired. MSHA preferred
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs., work at heights, and in varied conditions.
  • Valid drivers license preferred.
  • Familiarity with document control basics (versioning, naming, access).
  • Strong customer service, organization, and confidentiality.
